Post Production Blog: Software use and edits
One of the things that I feel most accomplished with regarding my project is my new knowledge regarding the software and the edits I have made over the last week. I have been experimenting with the tools in Premiere Pro and I feel confident using several of the tools that I swore I would never be able to use just six months ago. The first edit that I made to my film was editing the length of the blurriness for the opening title. Making the title blurry was very difficult for me in the first draft, therefore I accepted any flaws and moved on. However, I since revisited the opacity tool and learned how to use it correctly. I perfected the timing of the blur in the opening title. The next step that I took was changing the opacity of the "Directors Name" credit, allowing it to fade in rather than just appear as a way to increase the professionalism of the project. Post Production Blog: Concept and Music Changes
After evaluating my 1st draft, I found a few changes that I needed to make both to my concept and to my film itself. The "concept change" that I am referring to involves two of my characters. While my original concept was to have the little girl be at the beach with her parents, I have since realized, as previously mentioned, that this does not look realistic. My actors are people my age and it is not very believable that they are her parents. I am changing those characters to her "siblings" and maintaining that the brother is responsible for the kidnapping and bad. Same concept, just instead of mom and dad they are her brother and sister. Another change that I made to the content of the film was adding two scenes at the end which show the little girl being held hostage. I felt like this helped develop the "kidnapping" plot.
