Production Blog 2: Figuring out Film

Before this project, I had never filmed a movie or anything like one before. I had received a Cannon camera for my birthday and I decided to take on the challenge of learning how to film on it for my project. I consulted with a few friends who had some experience in filming, and I got down the basics of taking the videos.

I wanted to incorporate some cool shots of the water, sand, and sky to establish the beach scene "vibe." I learned how to zoom in and out on the camera, and focus in on cool shots. One of the things I was most proud of in my final product was the focused shots on the shoreline and beach. When filming my characters, I tried to use the zoom features on the camera to highlight  what I wanted the audience  to focus on at any given time. I also used the lighting features on the camera to capture the natural light of the beach.

This project provided a great opportunity to learn about filming.  I look forward to filming more things in the future now that I am confident with the camera.
